“In a world where distances often disconnect us, Friends of Karachi was born to bring hearts closer. What started as a few casual meetups has now become a vibrant community bound by memories, support, and belonging. Let’s continue to uplift one another and keep the spirit of Karachi alive — wherever we are.”
— Mr. Asif Qamar Khan
Senior Director, Friends of Karachi – Toronto Chapter
Who We Are
Friends of Karachi (Toronto Chapter) is a close-knit community of individuals and families originally from Karachi, Pakistan, now living in Canada — primarily across Ontario. We’ve come together to celebrate our culture, support one another, and create a space where friendship, care, and shared identity thrive beyond borders.
We believe that no matter where life takes us, the warmth of Karachi can live on — in our gatherings, our smiles, and our helping hands.

Our Story
The idea for Friends of Karachi was sparked in living rooms, chai dhabas, and community parks — where Karachiites would meet, share memories, and dream of staying connected.
As more families arrived and settled across Canada, the informal get-togethers turned into organized events, poetry nights, funfests, and food-based reunions that reminded everyone of home. From just a few friends, we’ve grown into a supportive family that continues to welcome new faces and celebrate old friendships.
